As a matter of business principle and practice, ChangeMatters values diversity in its many forms, including and beyond constructs and not limited to race, ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status, gender, background, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and place of origin.
Our team members and strategic allies believe that effective mission-based organizations must attend to diversity and inclusiveness. We often work with organizations serving a specifically defined population (e.g. at-risk, vulnerable, underserved communities, and communities of color) and do do not consider them non-inclusive or discriminatory. We also commit to self-reflection and critique in own efforts.
While currently, we do not require all clients to acknowledge their diversity and inclusiveness policies and/or practices (hiring, community engagement, sustaining strategies, and volunteer participation) formally in contracts or agreements, we may do so in the future. ChangeMatters will not accept contract work with organizations whose expressed intent it is to promote cultural bias and discrimination, deny human rights, or whose work conflicts directly with building inclusive communities or progressive social change.
