ChangeMatters started in 1999, as a one-person freelance shop, with a focus on grant proposal writing, fundraising planning, and individual campaign services for charities and community-based organizations.
The portfolio grew to include larger strategy, training, funding, and coaching projects for small businesses, government agencies, and philanthropy, requiring collaboration and “accordion staffing.”
Starting around 2008, we extended our work to focus on social enterprise and socially-responsible business. In addition, in developing strategic alliances with a grants and evaluation firm in Arizona, a green business planning firm, among others, we are growing our portfolio of projects and partners.
We understand that business models do not always easily fit within the traditional “nonprofit organization vs. for-profit firm” framework. We see our work as investing in our clients’ success and in the overall growth and sustainability of common good enterprise in the United States and abroad.
